The ceremony of Emahó

The fire dance is a living ceremony. There is no symbolism or thinking, there is only doing. It is wild, loud, and strong and yet it’s graceful, quiet, and feminine. Emahó was taught the fire dance over the course of seven years and it has evolved over time as the teachings have unfolded.

In the ceremony, Emahó works with fire, an element that cannot be manipulated or transmuted.

Children love the dance; they know there’s nothing to fear. For adults, it offers an opportunity to use their bodies to integrate the teachings of Emahó. It is of no culture or religion so it cannot be claimed, yet it invites all of us to watch, to dance, and to move closer to the fires of our own hearts.
